dhobi ghat
watched dhobi ghat. loved it. the sheer simplicity with which complexity has been portrayed, realistic and yet not wallowing in self pity, the screenplay, the editing, the direction, the acting, the freshness. very engaging. very well done.
have come to appreciate kiran rao's work. aamir's ability to pick interesting subjects and good scripts for production impresses me yet again. not to mention his ability to give an understated yet convincing performance. continue to love his work!
apart from the movie itself, watching it reminded me of my time in bbay.. a very special time, where i laughed, cried, enjoyed, n actually lived. its like i spent a lifetime in a span of a little over a year. i loved the city n the city loved me back. the amazing thing is that there was nothing great to write home about, just the existance, the feel, the time, the experience.. little things like the time spent sitting by the sea, the auto rides back to our friendly pad at unearthly hours (not by b'bay standards), the amazing places for trekking and photography at 2-3 hour rides.. just about everything.. miss u, bombay!
