the catcher in the rye...
... by j d salinger
i'd heard a lot about this book and had been trying to procure it for a long time now to add to the collection. finally i managed to get the book. i finished reading it recently. frankly, this is probably the first time that i finished a book and had no feelings at all - i didn't know if i liked it or disliked it. actually i can safely say i felt neither emotion. in fact, i didn't know what to make of it.
sometimes one hears a lot and builds expectations. at the end of it, one feels let down or disappointed. sometimes, one has to pick up a book when one's ready for it..before that it sort of escapes you. but here, that doesn't seem to be the case. i read it, and that was that. the only thought i do remember having is if i missed the point entirely.
any enlightened souls out there who'd care to shed some light on this, and make me tad wiser..?
